Remedial Investigation
C.T. Male is leading the Remedial Investigation (RI) at the 1,000-acre regional airport to assess PFAS contamination from historic firefighting foam use.
Key services included:
- Site Characterization: Developed a conceptual site model and determined the nature and extent of PFAS contamination in all site media (surface soil, near surface soil, subsurface soil, surface water, sediment, groundwater, and potable water sources) across eight (8) different Areas of Concern.
- Community Concern Resolution: Worked with the client based on concerns raised by NYSDEC, NYSDOH, Franklin County DOH, USEPA, FAA, and the general public.
- Feasibility & Water Supply Assessment: Conducted a Feasibility Assessment for a water supply at a nearby mobile home park.
- Proactive Remediation Strategy: Provided focused remediation to protect the health of people and the environment, to address the complexity of PFAS contamination in various media, and helping the client understand the long-term challenges.
C.T. Male has been at the forefront of PFAS investigation and remediation in New York State, providing valuable expertise in both regulatory navigation and the design of effective remedial systems.
