Greenport Fire District
C.T. Male was tasked with providing multiple services for the Becraft Pumper Company No. 2 These services included an Evaluation and Engineer’s Report of their Existing Fire Station, and Design services for a New Garage Addition and a New Hallway corridor connecting the New Building to the Existing Station. Design services also included Exterior improvements to the Existing façade improving the building’s overall thermal performance and the aesthetic. The design of this new building provides an additional 3,700+ square feet to be primarily used for Garage space for 3 emergency fire vehicles. The new building addition also includes several essential support areas such as restrooms, Gear Locker Room, Decontamination Room (Decon Room), Storage and utility areas. Along with the new building addition, the newly incorporated hallway connector corridor serves a critical function. It provides much-needed accessible entry points to both the new garage addition and the existing fire station, ensuring the facility meets current ADA accessibility standards. Beyond its practical function, the connector also serves as the primary entryway for personnel and visitors, providing a centralized point of access that improves circulation between the two buildings.
