Tryon Technology Park
Infrastructure Improvements
After the completion of the initial infrastructure improvements to the Tryon Technology Park, Fulton County proceeded to secure funding for Phase 2 improvements. The Phase 2 Infrastructure Improvements consisted of additional water main, a new booster pump station, and a 300,000 gallon elevated water storage tank.
C.T. Male provided professional design, bidding, and construction
phase services for the Phase 2 work. The work generally consisted of approximately 1,400 LF of new 12” DIP along Maloney Road, a new booster pump station located on the Tryon Technology Park campus, a new 300,000 gallon elevated water storage tank, demolition of an existing steel water storage tank and existing pump station, and associated appurtenances and electrical work. Demolition and removal of the existing steel tank and pump station included pre-demolition condition assessment and hazardous materials survey. The booster pump station and elevated tank work also included the design of radio communications between the two sites and development of a controls scheme for the pump station.
The elevated water storage tank required permitting with FAA since the tank is in proximity to a County-owned and operated airport. FAA permitting for the tank was completed during the design phase and permitting for temporary rigging and construction was completed during the construction phase. Additionally, the radio communications between the pump station and tank was permitted with the FCC to license the radio frequency range. Coordination with public utility companies (water, sanitary sewer, electric) by C.T. Male staff was also a part of our scope of work.
